is pleased to announce that that entries are now open for submission until 27th June 2016

Conditions of Entry

Entry to the 26th Annual Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence is open to businesses and organisations that meet all the following criteria:

  • Resides in Australia
  • Has a location in Western Sydney
  • Has been operating for more than two years at the time of entry
  • Is more than 60% Australian-owned
  • Has a valid ABN or ACN for taxation purposes
  • It is not aligned in any way with a sponsor company
  • It does not have a member of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce board or WSABE committee member as an employer or employee

Financewerx/ComputerWerx Excellence in Business Ethics*

The Excellence in Business Ethics award recognises an outstanding business or business person that has been able to achieve business success while acting in an ethically responsible way.

Excellence in Innovation*

The Excellence in Innovation award recognises businesses that have made significant contributions to their industry through the introduction or improvement of an idea, method, technology, process or application.

Excellence in Sustainability*

The Excellence in Sustainability award recognises businesses that are working to reduce the impact of their operations on the environment and/or provide products and services that have positive environmental outcomes.
*Where sustainability is your core business, you must enter this category based on sustainable initiatives and projects within your business, not related to your core offering.

Excellence in Small Business (less than 20 employees)*

The Excellence in Small Business award recognises a company (employing less than 20 employees) that has attained significant growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth in the 2014 financial year.

Excellence in Business (over 20 employees)*

The Excellence in Business (medium to large) award recognises a company (employing more than 20 employees) that has attained significant growth and is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth in the 2014 financial year.

Excellence in Export*

The Excellence in Export award recognises leading examples of businesses that are forging a strong reputation for Australian products and services in international markets.

Excellence in Marketing

The Excellence in Marketing award recognises businesses that utilise a variety of marketing tools and techniques to effectively promote their business whilst engaging the end user.

Excellence in Education (core business is education)

The Excellence in Education award recognises institutions where their primary business is education and displays outstanding achievement and innovation in education and training.

Excellence in Customer Service

The Excellence in Customer Service award recognises businesses or institutions that show positive growth and customer retention through the use of building relationships by listening, analysing feedback and exceeding customer expectations.

Excellence in Work, Health and Safety

The Excellence in Work, Health and Safety award recognises a business that is creating a safe and healthy work environment through the implementation of outstanding WHS management systems, solutions and practices in businesses.

ENDEAVOUR AWARDS

Employer of Choice*

The Employer of Choice award recognises organisations that put in place strategies and initiatives to create stimulating and supportive workplace environments for their employees. These strategies or initiatives must have a positive impact on both employees and the organisation as a whole.

Rising Star #

The Rising Star award recognises new businesses that demonstrate how they’ve maintained their positioning from the previous year and their plans for business growth. They must exhibit growth in one or more of the following areas over recent financial years: turnover, profit and/or staffing numbers and be willing to substantiate growth figures (only if required, and requested, for confirmation by the judging panel).

# Business must have been operating for a minimum of two full financial years and a maximum of four full financial years.

Patron’s Choice

The Patron’s choice award recognises organisations that contribute to the community. This will be selected by The Hon. Alan Cadman OAM, the Awards’ Patron, from finalist entries in all categories.

PINNACLE AWARDS

Young Entrepreneur (Age 18-35)*

The Young Entrepreneur award recognises an inspirational young person aged between 18 and 35 who, through their own commitment and passion, has built and operated a successful business. This award recognises young business leaders who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic direction and innovative ideas whilst providing inspiration to a new generation of upcoming young business people.

DOOLEYS Young Business Executive (Age 18-35) *

The Young Business Executive award recognises an inspirational young professional aged between 18 and 35 who has built a successful career within an organisation.

Business Leader (Age 36+) *

The Business Leader award recognises the positive contribution made to business by business people and professionals. The award recognises those who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic business direction and innovative ideas, whilst providing inspiration to a new generation of upcoming business leaders.

Business of the Year

The Business of the Year award is recognised for overall excellence and is selected by an independent judging committee from the winners of each category.

* Winner progresses to NSWBC annual awards as regional winner for Western Sydney (Must be a member of a chamber to progress)

Category winners from 2014 and 2015 cannot enter the same category for three (3) years from the date of winning, but can enter a different category or categories.
Entry is not open to office bearers of Parramatta Chamber of Commerce or their affiliates, Sponsors and supporters of WSABE 2016 or their affiliates, NSW Business Chamber office bearers or its affiliates.
