Finalising the Airport Plan and Environmental Impact Statement
- Almost 5,000 submissions on the draft Airport Plan and draft EIS were received during the recent public exhibition.
- Comments from the community and stakeholders are being reviewed and considered as part of the process to finalise the Airport Plan and EIS.
- The Airport Plan and EIS are expected to be finalised mid-year.

Road upgrades in Western Sydney
- Road projects to service the proposed airport and Western Sydney’s growing economy and population are being funded by the $3.6 billion Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan.
- In January 2016 construction began on Stage 1 of The Northern Road Upgrade, a $1.58 billion project.
- 11 new local roads projects were also greenlit under the $200 million local roads package, boosting the capacity and efficiency of the area.

Rail study underway
- Options for rail to service Western Sydney and the proposed airport are being assessed through a joint Australian and NSW government scoping study.
- Planning for the proposed airport preserves space for future rail access.
- The scoping study will include community and stakeholder consultation.
